Election Platform

It is important today to have strong voices in leadership at the Provincial Executive table. I believe that I am a capable, trusted, and informed advocate for all members of the Society.

The Society’s pillars are to advance and safeguard the welfare of teachers, the status of the teaching profession, and the cause of public education in Manitoba; the current provincial collective bargaining process touches each of these pillars. I have been fortunate over the last three years to have been elected to chair the first-ever Provincial Bargaining Committee, and to sit on the inaugural table team. To advocate for members throughout this process has been an honour and a privilege that I have not taken for granted. Each day, I am entrusted to be mindful of the diversity of our membership and the uniqueness of the variety of needs around the province.

As a leader, it is incumbent upon me to bring this thinking into all the work I do. As an elected representative of the 16,000+ members of the Society, I strive to be an advocate for all the voices that deserve to be in the room, and to create better mechanisms to amplify those authentic voices. I am still learning, and striving to do better for everyone that MTS represents – I hope my journey so far has demonstrated my commitment to current and future members, as well as the staff who serve them.

In seeking this opportunity of continued service, I ask again for your renewed support. Merci pour votre confiance. Thank you. Miigwetch.
